Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Video2Jpg (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the Video2Jpg website (the “Site”).
What this Site is
Video2Jpg is a free in-browser video to image converter. You can convert video to JPG, PNG, or WebP, extract a single frame or a full image sequence, and download the results—including as a ZIP file.
Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your video files are not uploaded to our servers for processing.
Today the Site mainly offers:
- the on-page converter (JPG, PNG, and WebP)
- a blog
- legal pages (this Privacy Policy, Terms, and Cookie Policy)
The Site does not currently offer user accounts, paid plans, or checkout.
1. Information we collect
A. Information you send us
If you email support@video2jpg.com, we receive whatever you put in that email (for example your address and message text).
There is no account registration on the Site at this time.
B. Information collected automatically when you browse
When you open pages on the Site, our hosting stack and optional analytics may receive standard technical data, such as:
- IP address (or related network data)
- browser type and user-agent
- pages visited, referrer, and approximate time
- basic device / locale signals
C. Cookies and similar storage
We and some third parties may use cookies or similar storage. See the Cookie Policy for details. Examples on this Site include:
- preference cookies (for example color scheme)
- small client identifiers used for basic site operation
- analytics cookies / scripts if those tools are enabled in configuration
D. Videos, frames, and local processing
When you use the converter, your video file, extracted frames, and download ZIP are handled on your device with the browser’s local resources.
We do not receive, store, or inspect the contents of those files as part of conversion. If you do not want a file processed locally in your browser, do not select it in the converter.
E. Images and static files (CDN)
Site images and other static files may be served from our Cloudflare R2 CDN (for example cdn.video2jpg.com). Requests for those files can create normal CDN/edge logs. This is for Site assets, not for your uploaded videos.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- run and secure the Site
- answer support emails
- understand aggregate traffic (when analytics is on)
- reduce spam and abuse
- meet legal requirements
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use private support emails to train public AI models. We do not use your videos or extracted frames to train models—we do not receive them.
3. Analytics and ads (configuration-based)
Depending on deployment settings, the Site may load:
- Pageview / Plausible-style analytics (privacy-oriented page analytics) when a site domain is configured
- Microsoft Clarity and/or Google Analytics only if their IDs are configured
- Google AdSense only if a publisher ID is configured
If a tool is not configured, its script is not loaded. Empty configuration means that tool is off.
4. Legal bases (where GDPR-style rules apply)
We may rely on:
- Legitimate interests — operating a secure converter website and understanding aggregate usage
- Consent — non-essential analytics/ads cookies where required by law
- Communication — responding when you email us
- Legal obligation — when the law requires retention or disclosure
Local conversion happens on your device and is not a transfer of video content to us.
5. Sharing
We may share limited data with:
- Infrastructure providers (for example Cloudflare for hosting, DNS, R2, and email routing)
- Analytics or ads providers, only if those tools are enabled
- Authorities or advisors, when required by law or to protect rights and safety
We do not sell or rent personal information.
6. Retention
- Support emails: kept as long as needed to reply and keep basic business records (unless law requires longer)
- Server / security / CDN logs: kept for a limited operational period
- Converter files: remain on your device unless you save or share them yourself
7. Security
We use reasonable measures for a small website (HTTPS, limited access to infrastructure credentials). Because conversion is local, video content is not stored on our servers. No online service is 100% secure.
8. International transfers
Hosting and CDN providers may process data in more than one country. We rely on the safeguards those providers offer where required.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain personal data, or to object to some processing. Contact support@video2jpg.com. We may need to verify the request.
10. Children
The Site is not aimed at children under 13 (or the higher age required where you live). We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data. Contact us if you think this happened.
11. Third-party sites
Outbound links (for example blog sources or other tools) are outside our control. Their privacy rules apply there. This Policy covers only Video2Jpg.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. The effective date / lastModified field will change when we do. Continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Policy.
